If you've been paying attention to what's been going on with this resurgence in the Chicago music scene, you'd know that vocal talent Lili K has been right in the thick of it. You heard Lili K right here on OKP when she dropped her sophomore project with producer Peter Cottontale, Metal Petals, and she has also done work with OKP regulars Thelonious Martin, Naledge, Vic Mensa, and Chance The Rapper. Earlier this month, she put her brand of original jazz/neo-soul/electronic hip-hop on full display with her latest EP, My Favorite Things (get that below). Today, we proudly premiere the video for the infectious intro track "Interlude." If you're not already familiar with Lili's music, I'd say this is the perfect song to bring you right into full on fandom. You jazz buffs will recognize the tune as originally written by Dizzie Gillespie with Sarah Vaughan ("Interlude (A Night In Tunisia)"), now Lili and Peter Cottontale update and rearrange the track into the below jam. Says Lili: "The lyrics of the song depict a dreamy romance, and I wanted the visual to match the lyrics perfectly. I wrote the treatment for the video and brought it to J Frank and Addison Wright, two good friends of mine who are amazing videographers to bring my vision to life." Get a dose of Lili's uniquely modern but vintage sound, below.
