People Are Wondering If Kylie Jenner Knows Who MF DOOM Is After She Wears His Nike Dunks
Kylie bought the pair from noted sneaker collector Andre Ljustina.
Sneakerheads are well-known for being a testy group to meddle with online. When this group collides with the media circus that follows any Kardashian family member, it's a recipe for chaos.
On Thursday, January 16th, Kylie Jenner posted a picture in front of her custard Mercedes G550. The real star of the picture, however, was Kylie's pair of Nike SB Dunks. She was wearing the very rare DOOM Dunks. Sneakerheads quickly noticed them, taking to Twitter to praise and/or vent their frustrations.
Some just laughed at the frustration.
Nike originally released the pair in 2007, during the peak of the sneakerhead era. MF Doom and Nike Skateboarding collaborated for the limited release. Currently, the shoes sell between the $600 to $800 range on the resale market.
In an interview with Complex, Fran "Franalations" Marchello claims that Andre Ljustina, owner of Los Angeles-based streetwear shop Project Blitz, bought the DOOM Dunks. Marchello has collected Dunks for 14 years. Additionally, Marchello says Ljustina picked up the Purple Pigeon Dunks, as well as one of De La Soul's two commemorative pairs of Dunk Highs. It wouldn't be surprising to see Kylie recreate the look with another rare set of sneakers.

Kylie's boyfriend Travis Scott has recently made his foray into the sneaker game. Over the past year, Nike and Scott collaborated on at least three pairs of commemorative sneakers, including his own pair of SB Dunks.
