Game On: Flying Lotus, Just Blaze + More Discuss The Influence Of Video Game Music In Upcoming RBMA Mini-Doc [Trailer]

For any of us that grew up spending hours plugged in to those grey or black boxes plunked under our tuners, the one thing we always recall is the 8-bit symphonies that accompanied our coin-collecting and sword-swinging exploits. It should come to little or no surprise that in the music nerd-conquered music industry, some (really most) of those innovators spent just as much time on the sticks as you did. A new RBMA mini-doc is poised to feature some OKP favorites speaking to the depth and influence of those synth-soaked scores, tapping the likes of Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Just Blaze, Havoc, Oh No, J Rocc and so many more sonic-smiths.

The doc will reveal and explore the names and legacies of the composers of those foundational childhood gaming experiences, shining a light on to a group of Japanese pioneers, whose contributions have remained in the neon-tinged shadows of our favorite titles. That is of course, until now. You can watch a short teaser for the aptly titled Diggin' In The Carts piece below. Stay tuned for the full drop on September 4th. In the words of the mighty Wayne Campbell: "game on."
