With last night's Conan O'Brien appearance, El-P proves again that his new, highly-rated LPCancer 4 Cure is not just studio-rat business; its a full-grown work of art to wake listeners up whether heard over headphones or in a live setting. Singer Zola Jesus comes through to add some decibels to the hook but surprisingly el-microphono is the one holding it down with an oddly compelling talking-head rap style that sounds like nothing so much as David Byrne shouting over the booming system of a large automobile.
