A few weeks back we learned that Eddie Murphy, silent as he has been as of late, would be just the 18th recipient of The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. An honor that began with Richard Pryor as the inaugural recipient and has now been bestowed upon the likes of comedy's classic men and women like George Carlin, Steve Martin, Bill Cosby and Will Ferrell.

This past weekend, the Kennedy Center played host to a ceremony that brought some of the biggest names in entertainment under one elegantly-furnished roof, with the likes of Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan, Trevor Noah, JB Smoove, Kathy Griffin and more all stepping out to show their love and support for a seldom seen giant of the comedy world on a night where he joins some of the funniest people in history in receiving a rare and prestigious accolade.

And while no official video has leaked from the ceremony, a clip released by the Associated Press captured a glimpse of the red-carpet as well as a few moments from Murphy's much-hyped acceptance speech, where he, albeit briefly, reprised his Bill Cosby impression to underline the severity of the allegations brought against him.
