Canadian sophistifunk specialists Chromeo have given the keys to the Delorian that is "Over Your Shoulder" to Mr. Oizo for a glamorous French treatment, as only a francophone from the other side of the pond could. Those familiar with the Ed Banger camp from which Oizo was spawned are aware of the glittery rehashes they put out, with Oizo's trademark being the robotic monotone vocal tracks he throws into the mix (Think Nile Rodgers meets Stephen Hawking.) Oizo cuts up the 21st century funk brother's track with expert precision and dynamic breaks, throwing the track in the gauntlet of shiny French DJ work. The electronic duo is wrapping up their freshest effort White Women and preparing to embark on a minimal tour of the UK, with one show at NYC's Webster Hall that has already sold out.
