Fresh Out of Prison, Bill Cosby is Allegedly Planning a Comeback Tour
Bill Cosby is trying to make a post-prison comeback.
Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby has been home from prison for the last week. And apparently he is not trying to stay quiet.
Andrew Wyatt, a rep for Cosby, tells the TMZ that the comedian — who is 83 years old — has started planning a comedic tour that will go from the United States to Canada to London. According to Wyatt, Cosby's team has contacted a number of promoters and comedy clubs about performance opportunities. That's only one part. Wyatt also says that Cosby is working on a docuseries — five parts! — that will cover his legacy and his experience in prison and he is planning on releasing a book with writer Frederick Williams. Cosby also wants to go around prisons and schools and neighborhoods with the hopes of inspiring other folks.
"The world wants to see Mr. Cosby," Wyatt told TMZ.
Wyatt also talked to the LA Times about his potential comeback. Wyatt told the LA Times that he is holding up well, saying that he is “colorful and powerful — more powerful than we’ve ever seen.”
Cosby told the LA Times:
“In his physical appearance, he’s exuberant. In his mental state, he’s exuberant. In his feelings and humor, he’s exuberant."
Bill Cosby was released from prison on Wednesday, June 30th, after Pennsylvania’s highest court overturned his sex assault conviction “after finding an agreement with a previous prosecutor prevented him from being charged in a case.” The defamed comedian has served nearly three years of a three to 10-year state prison sentence.
Cosby wasconvicted of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constandin April 2018. As of 2021, 60 women — over a 40 year stretch — have accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault.
