OKP News: Bilal Speaks On New LP + 1st Single "Back To Love"

Bilal recently revealed details about his forthcoming album A Love Surreal, and its first single "Back To Love" (wait...are him, Estelle and Anthony Hamilton just effin with us?) while taking a stroll through the rainy streets of New York with CentricTV. The stroll is actually a behind-the-scenes of sorts from the video for "Back To Love," which stars our hero as a weed-peddling, advice-dispensing love doctor on his rounds. February is all about love, and it seems appropriate for the album to be released during this month. Is the album about love in the traditional sense?

The album [is about love]. It’s about the whole process. Meeting, the break-up, the get back together. I’s Love, but a lot encompasses that word.

So in the video for “Back To Love” I hear you’re playing this love doctor, who ends up being the one getting the lesson—or prescription of sorts. Who came up with the concept?

Actually my wife came up with the concept, and the we took it to another level. It started out as me being a love doctor, but [now the character is a love doctor that sells] legal marijuana.
