Albums We're Excited for in March
From Gnarls Barkley to Ty Dolla $ign, the spring kicks off with an eclectic slate of releases from across the musical spectrum.

March is here which means spring is right around the corner. It also happens to mean a wide array of projects dropping this month from across the spectrum of urban music and beyond. There’s a lot of cool stuff coming — and it’s quite the variety of artists.
Gnarls Barkley makes their unexpected return with their first album in 18 years. Plus, we get the highly anticipated collaborative project from Elucid & Sebb Bash. Not to mention Denzel Curry’s supergroup, The Scythe, also delivers their debut this month.
After some delay, Ms. Banks is set to deliver her debut album, and Ego Ella May is also representing for singer-songwriters this month. Gnarls Barkley - 'ATLANTA'

It’s been a minute. The duo of DJ Danger Mouse and CeeLo Green enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success in the ’00s as Gnarls Barkley, and now the duo is back with their first new music in almost 20 years.
The Scythe - 'STRICTLY 4 THE SCYTHE'
Release Date: March 6
The Scythe is Denzel Curry, Ferg, Bktherula, TiaCorine and Key Nyata — and the collective has been building momentum for their debut over the last several months and fans are buzzing. After their listening in NYC, folks are ready for what they’ve been cooking.
Ty Dolla $ign - 'GIRL MUSIC, VOL. 1' (EP)'
Release Date: March 6
A live band drives the project, so there’s an organic vibe — showcased on the lead single "miss u 2" with Leon Thomas. Ty has grown into his signature melodic sound — and the EP is centered on themes of love and relationships.
Jack Harlow - 'MONICA'
Release Date: March 13
The rapper’s highly anticipated fourth album drops on his birthday and he’s talked about how his new project is reflective of a new, more mature sound. He’s certainly been showing 90s R&B a lot of love.
Elucid & Sebb Bash - 'I GUESS U HAD TO BE THERE'
Release Date: March 13
Elucid and Sebb Bash’s new album includes contributions from Breeze Brewin, Estee Nack, Shabaka Hutchings, and billy woods. All over Sebb Bash production.
Ms. Banks - 'SOUTH LDN LOVER GIRL'
Release Date: Mar. 13
Despite the project being pushed back from an expected February release, anticipation remains strong for the British singer’s debut. Banks has described the project as an ode to Black women; one that encapsulates the experience of growing up as a Black woman in the United Kingdom.
Wallie The Sensei - 'MADD DOGG'
Release Date: March 13
The buildup has been crazy. The Compton rapper-singer has seen his star rise over the past year and a half and now it’s time for him to step out of the shadow of his famous co-signers and claim his moment.
Central Cee - 'ALL ROADS LEAD HOME' (EP)
Release Date: Mar. 19
The UK drill rapper announced this EP in February alongside a pair of singles. “Iceman Freestyle” was previewed way back in the fall. To say he built anticipation the old fashioned way is an understatement.
Ego Ella May - 'GOOD INTENTIONS'
Release Date: March 20
The 12-song project features a genre-blending fusion of jazz, soul, and R&B, focusing on themes of vulnerability, love, and community. Produced with collaborators Alfa Mist and Melo Zed.
Alex Isley - 'WHEN THE CITY SLEEPS'
Release Date: March 20
She’s described the album as an ode to the city of Los Angeles. The 15-track album features all six songs from her previously released WHEN EP and incorporates nine brand-new songs. The Isley Bros progeny was born for this.
MIKE WILL MADE-IT - 'R3SET'
Release Date: March 20
Don’t call it a comeback — but it has been almost 8 years since he last dropped an album, and this project is inspired by him losing his hard drives — and all the music saved on them — around the same time.
