In case you can’t tell from the sweltering heat, we are definitely in the thick of summer. You may be firing up the grill or lounging on a beach; either way, this is the time of year when everyone wants to find a little shady spot and bask in some cool shade to escape the sun. And of course, July has some heaters for your playlist.

Syd is back with BEARD, her third solo album, and Steve Lacy is also dropping Oh Yeah?, his latest, this month. Plus, we get some heavyweight hip-hop releases from Rick Ross and Future. And you can expect an all-star rollout of guests for DJ Khaled’s new project, Aalam Of God

There are more high-profile drops this month that run the gamut from Afrobeats to country. Yes, Shaboozey is giving us his fourth studio album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales. Tyla brings her uniquely effervescent approach to A*POP, and we get the latest from superstar Davido

But let’s get to the list –these are the albums we’re excited for in July.

Future - ‘THE REAL ME’

Release Date: July 10

He already let fans know he’s officially in “album mode.” After a pair of collaborative albums with longtime producer Metro Boomin, the ATL superstar returns with a proper solo album — his tenth, to be exact. It’s his first project in four years.

Ken Carson - ‘XPERIMENT’

Release Date: July 3

Ken Carson’s latest will be a follow-up to his April 2025 LP, More Chaos. At this point, he’s become his own self-contained star, but he can still level up — and this is his chance.

The-Dream - ‘LOVE/HATE II’

Release Date: July 10

Serving up a sequel to one of his most acclaimed albums could be a recipe for disaster, but the hitmaker has a proven track record and his impeccable ear remains intact. He’s already dropped “Tampa,” a bedroom-ready banger featuring longtime collaborator Usher.

Kelela - ‘NEW AVATAR’

Release Date: July 10

Her upcoming third studio album blends R&B, shoegaze, grunge, and electronic music. Preceded by the singles "Idea 1" and "Linknb,” the project features guest appearances by A. K. Paul, Fousheé, and PinkPantheress

Rick Ross - ‘SET IN STONE’

Release Date: July 17

His project was originally slated for June, but better late than never. Rozay’s upcoming twelfth studio album finds him squarely back in his luxury rap lane and serves as a direct follow-up to 2021’s Richer Than I Ever Been.

DJ Khaled - ‘AALAM OF GOD’

Release Date: July 17

The fourteenth studio album by Khaled features Future,  Lil Baby, Post Malone, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Vybz Kartel and Buju Banton. Named after his youngest son, Aalam (which means "world" in Arabic), the project serves as his first album in four years, following 2022's GOD DID.

Steve Lacy - ‘OH YEAH?”

Release Date: July 17

The follow-up to his 2022 breakout album, Gemini Rights, the new album from Lacy is expected to be a personal collection. He’s already indicated that he wanted to emphasize “transparency.”

Syd - ‘BEARD’

Release Date: July 17

The world has been waiting. The 12-track LP is co-produced by Syd, and features Rodney Jerkins, Raphael Saadiq, James Fauntleroy, Big Sean, Van Hunt and Jordan Ward. It’s a project inspired by her artistic and personal evolution.

Tyla - ‘A*POP’

Release Date: July 24

She’s already dropped “Chanel” and “She Does It Again.” The upcoming second studio album from the South African singer is expected to be a showcase for her evolution as a woman. Third single “Is It Love” dropped in June.

Shaboozey - ‘THE OUTLAW CHERIE LEE & OTHER WESTERN TALES’

Release Date: July 31

The Grammy winner’s fourth studio album is a 20-track cinematic concept album that blends his signature country-crossover sound with Wild West folklore. The ambitious project explores timeless themes of revenge, redemption, and tragic romance.

Davido - ‘ORIADÉ’

Release Date: July 31

The album title comes from the Yoruba words Orí (head, destiny) and Adé (crown). Davido is reaching back to push forward. Musically, it represents the star’s re-embracing of traditional African sounds and styles.
