M.I.A. Flips 'The Lion King' On New Banger

“TO ALL MY FLYPIRATES and DJS – THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT !!!! LIVE FROM THE MEXICAN BORDER OLA !!!! MIA ON THE WAVES.”

Ring the alarm, new M.I.A. has arrived. After just being featured on the explosive new Baauer single, “Temple” and firing back at the NFL with her own “BOOM ADD” update, Mathangi returns with a little something for her A1-since-Day-1s; the double-sided loosie, “MIA OLA-FOREIGN FRIEND.”

With dancehall riddims in the back, bhangra-leaning accentuations galore and a slick little flip of The Lion King, Maya chops up her own bars, referencing some her earliest material, dating back to “Fire, Fire” and “Galang,” which were some of the very first introductions to the femme fatale, well before “Paper Planes” landed her on the mainstream map. All of which should comes as a welcome treat for longtime M.I.A. fans. Stream M.I.A.’s “MIA-OLA/FOREIGN FRIEND” down below and do so quickly, as that Lion King flip certainly won’t stay off the Disney radar for too long. And don’t sleep on your girl, there’s no telling when we’ll catch another sound or sight, but let’s be honest, it’s damn-near inevitable. Head over to her Soundcloud page to try and keep up.
