J. Period crosses Tupac's "Dear Mama" with the backing track of Sting's "Shape Of My Heart" to create the "Dear Mama" (Remix). The track arrives ahead of his Holler If Ya Hear Me Remixed project honoring the Pac inspired Broadway musical Holler If Ya Hear Me, starring Saul Williams. Those unfamiliar with Sting's beautiful performance may also recognize the melody as the foundation for "The Message" from Nas' 1996 It Was Written LP. The remix arrives as the show from Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon opens today on Broadway.
