OKP Premiere: Deep Cotton Presents The Runaway Radio Fixtape [Official Stream]

deep-cotton-runaway-radio-fixtape-lead

Deep Cotton emerges from the shadows of the Wondaland Arts Society to occupy the grey area between the icons and the enigmas, where innovation lies. Equal parts Devo and Dungeon Family, Deep Cotton channels the unadulterated kink of early Prince and serves it on toast with a side of punk. Nate "Rocket" Wonder and Chuck Lightning have made it their business to play at the altar of Organized Noize, grabbing the baton forged around the release of Society Of Soul's Brainchild LP and blasting it clear into space. It is clear, however, that they only pledge allegiance to the forward and the funk.

They are the fearless ambassadors of the new black, forging a path far left of the left for all of those creatives and beautiful creatures who have tired of the status quo. Deep Cotton has been delivering their infectious compositions in a very calculated manner as two important components of Janelle Monáe's signature sound. With the ArchAndroid's ascension now secured, they emerge from the shadows to cover our ears in a mushroom cloud of pure heat dense with hallucinogenic purples, potent lyricism and concentrated defiance that they have dubbed the Runaway Radio Fixtape. This is the sound of the future's future broadcasting live at this very moment. Take a listen to the stream below to get a taste of the Runaway Radio Fixtape from Deep Cotton. The Runaway Radio Fixtape will be released today for free at 7:54pm EST via DEEPCOTTON.net
