Why Charlamagne Says Nicki Minaj’s Energy is “Stank and Nasty” — Is She Okay?
The Breakfast Club named Nicki Minaj “Donkey of the Day” after her X posts targeting the hosts, calling out her antagonistic behavior amid the ongoing feud with Cardi B.
Charlamagne Tha God declared Nicki Minaj The Breakfast Club’s Donkey of the Day this past Thursday amid her ongoing public feud with Cardi B. The host gave the rap star that title after her recent X posts slamming Charlamagne and his cohosts. He called out Minaj for what he sees as antagonistic, insecure behavior.
“Your energy is just stank and nasty,” Charlamagne said. “You went from showing a generation how to be a female boss to showing a generation how to be a disgruntled artist. How does that happen? How do you go from inspiring a generation of young women to hating on a generation of young women? Well, that’s what happens when a person is in pain. That’s what happens when a person is hurting. That’s what happens when a person has a bunch of unhealed trauma that they haven’t dealt with.”
Minaj at one point tagged Donald Trump and tweeted that he should “lock them all up” and calling them “nasty ppl.” Charlamagne also argued that Nicki’s troubles are caused by Nicki.
“When you refuse to come to terms with human nature, that simply means that you are dooming yourself to patterns beyond your control and to feelings of confusion and helplessness,” Charlamagne said. “And that’s what I see in every tweet. Confusion, a cry for help, projections of pain, a wounded ego.”
Charlamagne shared that he wants Minaj to find a better path.
“Your trauma is not your fault, but your healing is your responsibility,” he said. “I truly, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart hope you heal.”
