We admit, at the beginning of this week, we didn't really think videos would be dropping from our favorite artists. But as the week dragged on visuals from Baby Keem, Sebastian Mikael, Vic Mensa and Rico Nasty proved us wrong.
Like clockwork, a few other artists we admire like Pink $weats also dropped off clips. Big Sean even rolled out a surprise performance video featuring two tracks off of his latest album: "Lucky Me" and "Still I Rise." Beyond these two, R&B singer Trevor Jackson and Florida singer/songwriter Rod Wave both released videos that also moonlight as short films.
Keep scrolling to take a look at the best videos of the week.
As a gift for his fans for his 33rd birthday, Big Sean dropped a video for two tracks off his latest album Detroit 2. The video features hints of his mixtape roots and we’re relishing in the fact that he relies on the strength of his punchlines even years removed from Finally Famous Vol. 1.
Rico Nasty did what she needed to do with her Emma Westenberg-directed visual for her raunchy single "Pussy Poppin." The playful video features some phallic-centric imagery and Rico in a myriad of colorful looks.
It’s Baby Keem’s world and we’re just living in it. His latest single “No Sense” has gotten a trippy video directed by Savannah Setten and edited by Neal Farmer.
Sebastian Mikael’s “Time (Remix)” featuring Kirby is exactly what we needed right now. The vocals on this track are stunning, we’re also loving the beautifully shot visual that dropped earlier this week.
There’s something about Pink $weats. We can’t quite put our name on it but we’re really into the new visual he released for “At My Worst” off his album PINK PLANET. Kehlani and the singer/songwriter are the perfect pair in this calming, aesthetically pleasing video.
Vic Mensa unveils an energetic, politically-charged clip for his latest single “FR33DOM.” On Friday, Mensa’s new project I TAPE hit streamers.
Mahalia may have taken a mini-hiatus from solo music-making, but her newest acoustic video for “Jealous” tells us she’s been in the studio. Overall, it’s quite cool to see the British singer in her element.
Driving through water in a water-proof truck, gifting Patek watches and having a private party on a mini boat: these are the luxuries Moneybagg Yo alludes to in his new video. “Hard For The Next” features Future’s symphonic vocals and he also is in the lavish clip, and so is Ari Fletcher, Moneybagg Yo’s influencer girlfriend.
St. Petersburg rapper/singer Rod Wave’s ability to capture a gamut of emotions is what initially set him on his path to stardom. Alongside the release of his newest album SoulFly, he releases a visual for a cut on the project, “Tombstone.”
Trevor Jackson is a blooming R&B star on our radar. In his newest video for his single "Get To You" off his debut album The Love Language, he’s coping with a breakup by hitting a bar his ex is at with her new beau.
