DJ Amir, a vinyl affeciando, crate digger, member of the duo Kon & Amir, and of course DJ is back with a new compilation of rare latin records titled DJ Amir Presents Buena Música Y Cultura. In a new clip that runs at about seven minutes, DJ Amir talks about the project, his love of latin music, particularly salsa, and throws in some fascinating gems about the rare records he has compiled. One of the stories involves a record digging trip to Human Head Records in Bushwick, Brooklyn where Amir comes across a rare record by The Orchestra Soledad that was sold by a member of the band who lived around the corner.
Amir also happened upon photos of the band from the period and a trophy the band won. The compilation is being released by UK based BBE Music. The project comes out on vinyl and CD on Septmer 16th. Scroll down to listen to some of the project via Soundcloud. You can pre-order a copy of DJ Amir Presents Buena Música Y Cultura: Good Culture And Rare Latin Sounds From Across The Americas here.
