Visual Culture: German Artist Uwe De Witt Recreates Classic Album Covers w/ Your Favorite Superheroes & Villains

Comic books and music nerdery have long gone hand in hand. And when considering that hip-hop and r&b's biggest names seem to be so intrinsically rooted in those two worlds, it should come as no surprise that an artist, namely Germany's Uwe De Wittfelt the need to marry them. De Witt has been reimagining some of the most timeless album covers with your favorite comic book heroes and villains at their center, conceiving a world where the X-Men's Storm took up shop as the queen of Studio 54 and the smooth operator all at once, where Doctor Doom became the G-funk ambassador to the world with his seminal solo piece The Comic and the Marvel Universe's first black hero Luke Cage had penned the purple funk of  "Sexy Dancer." And let's not forget The Joker revealing himself to be good ole' Ziggy Stardust (like there was ever even a doubt) You can lay your eyes upon some of our personal favorites in the gallery above, just be sure to get the full treatment of De Witt's work by checking out his site and join is in hoping that one fine day, De Witt will get the clearance to blow these up into full-sized creations so you can paint your walls with these proper treatments.
