Fat Beats' Parisian Detroit-swingers Union drop some new flame on us with "Where You At", featuring Bay Area mic-champion Raashan Ahmad of Crown City Rockers. Those that caught their astral debut Analogtronics-- one of the most comprehensive tributary albums to the King of Swing, perhaps ever-- know these boys ain't nothing to funk with. The fuzzed-out super subs, big clean claps and buried synths recall some of Dilla's more electronic styles--no doubt the Kraftwerk period-- and provide an overwhelming reassurance that Paris is holding down the funk. No word on the next release yet or if there's even an album planned, but we'll have more for you soon from the Parisian camp.
