Old Money — "Rumble in Tenochtitlan" [Official Video]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

With a choppy flow and a beat that bounces you along, Old Money drops the mesmerizing visuals for "Rumble in Tenochtitlan" off their recent Dutty Artz release Fire In The Dark. A staple of the Brooklyn-based underground hip-hop scene, the pair traffics in African-inspired musics with a distinctly fusion feel. With influences from various corners of the African diaspora, Old Money brings you artful sounds that will make you think.

Below, you'll find dark images of a masked man and a dancing woman engaging in some unnamed ritual when Ahmad Julian's face isn't making you feel trippy as it appears in threes. The whole video is superimposed over footage of nature scenes and ceremonial dance and shifts from frame to frame with impressive speed. Yes, it's a lot to take in, but it feels just saturated enough—I wasn't quite overwhelmed but I certainly noticed something new with each run through the three and half minutes. Shouts to Okayafrica for putting us up on this via their Weekend Burners. For a list of other hot Africa-related content from the week check out the latest edition and peep the visuals for yourself:
