August 8, marks the one-year anniversary of Mac Miller's Tiny Desk performance. It'd go on to be one of his final performances. Ty Dolla $ign stopped by the NPR headquarters this week and performed a Tiny Desk concert in tribute to the late rapper.
Ty had initially visited to record his own Tiny Desk set, but once he was reminded that it'd been a year since Mac sat in the performance seat, he and the band decided to a moving impromptu performance in his honor.
Ty performed a moving rendition of his 2016 collaboration with Mac, "Cinderella" from Mac's fourth studio album, The Divine Feminine. He was accompanied by Thundercat on bass and Justus West on guitar, both of whom played at the Tiny Desk with Mac a year ago.
