Baby Suga, 17-year-old niece of Trina was shot and killed in Miami, according to TMZ. On Wednesday (July 20) at 12:30 AM, Baby Suga – whose real name has not been disclosed – was gunned down in a triple shooting on Northwest 13th Avenue near 62nd Street in Liberty City. The 17-year-old, who was visiting Miami at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where their conditions are currently unknown.
The Miami Police Department released a statement about the shooting to XXL:
"Today, at around midnight we responded to the area reference a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased by MFR personnel. Two additional victims also suffering from gunshot wounds arrived at JMH, but were transported independently. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation."
Per local Miami news outlet WSVN, the Miami Police Department are investigating a black Mercedes SUV that was discovered to be riddled with bullet holes one mile north of the crime scene. It is uncertain whether Baby Suga was an intended target or caught in the crossfire.
Trina, who has not spoken publicly about the incident, received a key to Miami and received her own "Trina Day" in May. The rapper is set to perform at Rock the Bells Festival at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens next month.
