In her brand new video for "Bet," Tinashe uses her body to overcome a stark and stony urban landscape. Not by wrecking it, but by contorting her body into powerful dance moves that fill every frame with human life. Already a widely renowned vocal talent thanks to her excellent debut LP Aquarius (on which "Bet" can be found) and her recent mixtape Amethyst, it's the 22-year-old's choreography and execution that make "Bet" such an excellent clip--how long has it been since a rising female R&B artist has showed so much poise and potential at such a young age?
Sonically, "Bet" benefits from a raging guitar solo from none other than Dev Hynes, while the new video borrows heavily from Tinashe's earlier visual for "Cold Sweat." It's all about the longing and desire that can make our urban surroundings feel as if they too live, breathe and feel pain. Watch the video below.
