Sam & Dave's Sam Moore Agrees to Perform at Trump Inauguration Event

Sam & Dave's Sam Moore Agrees to Perform at Trump Inauguration Event

“I am not going to let them, the left side, intimidate me from doing what I feel is the right thing to do for the country and that (presidential) seal.”

It appears that president-elect Trump is finally filling out the bill for his inauguration week concerts. And though he's been turned down by artists of every creed and political leaning, one soul legend has agreed to strap up for the contentious opportunity. Sam Moore of Stax Records duo, Sam & Dave, has announced that he'll join a lackluster line-up of Toby Keith and 3 Doors Down at Trump's Make America Great Again! welcome celebration this Thursday, January 19th.

On agreeing to perform, Moore stated:

“I honestly believe that if we can accomplish this, the best is yet to come. We all as Americans need to unite behind our new President and give him a chance. He needs everyone’s support to make America greater, stronger and an even better country.”

Pitchfork notes that this isn't the first time Sam & Dave, as a whole or respectively, have been tapped to support the GOP, as their classic "Soul Man" was adopted by presidential hopeful, Bob Dole, during his 1996 campaign.
