Explore The Makings Of Ryan Leslie's "Mill'ns" In A New Studio Clip

"Somebody tell them kids in there, they've definitely gotta get their energy up. We don't have time for sleeping, in the studio we meet. Get your energy up!"

Those motivating words kick off Ryan Leslie's latest video, a behind-the-scenes video glimpse at the making of his new single "Mill'ns." Leslie (who, we must admit, has been off our radars for a minute) appears as a focused captain at the helm of a great ship, directing a full band toward the realization of his R&B vision. As the seconds tick by, "Mill'ns" grows into itself, first as a tender piano ballad, then a dramatic march and finally a trap-tinged banger loaded to the brim with strings, horns and overdriven guitar. Part Timberlake-esque maximal funk, part club-crushing rap, "Mill'ns" is an affirmation of both personal confidence and musical collaboration and is sure to amp up your regular rotation.

"The main problem in the music industry is that people just get their music out, try to get a buzz, and then they don't know how to actually reach their customers directly," Leslie asserts as he watches string players lay down live tracks for "Mill'ns." The video reveals just how vehemently Leslie eschews synthesizers for the sake of the real thing. "Make that investment in your music," Leslie says. "Mill'ns" is set to drop in its completed form quite soon, and can be found his upcoming record MZRT, which can be pre-ordered here.
