Prince New Song ScrewdriverPrince is up to something sneaky. You may've noticed, the purple one has been dropping bits of news and new music over the last few months. Last we saw him, he released a video for the groovy, almost country-sounding "Rock and Roll Love Affair." Meanwhile back at the purple ranch, he spent the last two days playing last-minute, intimate shows at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. Wednesday night's show was considered a "Soundcheck" and featured auditions for a new drummer. Last night was billed as a "Jam/Show," and tonight is going to be a "Surprise." Hopefully this all means we'll see a new album as well as more tour dates coming around the bend. For now, though, Prince has mysteriously leaked a preview of an unreleased song called, "Screwdriver"--which sounds something like Jimi Hendrix meets Nirvana with it's extended guitar runs and crunchy sonics. Although he has been notoriously against having his own music on YouTube, it seems that he is behind this. Check out the rock-heavy song below and stay tuned for more Prince news:
