Is Prince Getting Ready To Crash The Grammys?
Prince might not have nabbed himself a Grammy nod for his double-dose of Paisley stylings Art Official Age/ PLECTRUM ELECTRUM LPs, but that doesn't mean he won't present and accounted for at this year's festivities. After getting standing ovation for his mere presence at the Golden Globes (presenting Common and John Legend their awards for "Glory" from the Selma OST) US Weekly reports that The Kid "has something very, very special in the works." We wouldn't typically entertain the thought of substantiating said reports, but USW called it hours before he showed up on stage at The Globes, so we're thinking there might very well be some weight to the claim. There's still no word on what capacity he'll be arriving in (presenter, performer, hazy purple cloud that just floats over the ceremony) but it's already been a roller coaster year for The Paisley King, comprised short spouts on social media, 8-minute jams on Saturday Night Live and obviously, two massive albums that seemed to have been snubbed in light of certain cultural appropriators. Nonetheless, come February 8th we might have more to report on than the now standard botching of Album Of The Year honors.
