Paisley Park is a hotbed of musical activity this week as the recent Princeleak/releases are followed up with anew song from the purple one in collaboration with the mysterious 3rd Eye Girl. Depending who you ask 3rd Eye Girl is Prince's backing band (see also: the 3rd Eye Band, which has been auditioning for drummers in Minneapolis) his webmistress, an 'International Art Thief' who thiefs nothing but new Prince mp3s (see 3rdeyegirl.com) OR a new female protége. Today's release of an actual song actually attributed to the bodacious boddhisatva lends credence to that last theory but before you go thinking that this is all just an alias for Andy Allo, this slightly blurry pic that's included on the official youtube stream of the song appears to be a portrait of a legitimate 3-member girl band. We'll get Brainchild on the case and see if we can identify any of these femme fatales as previously-ID'ed members of Prince's all-girl army of kung fu killers! Oh yeah and the music: pretty good? And pretty poppy, in the sense that it could possibly compete for airtime on the 2013 radio dial, clogged as it is with American Idol alums and EDM crossover.
