“Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down?”
As we reach the two week mark since Prince left our terrestrial plain, we’re beginning to get a sense of just how deep his influence is,e not just on the generations of musicians that followed in his purple glow, but even those that preceded him. Case in point: last night legendary singer/songwriter and 1/4 of The Beatles, Paul McCartney, tipped his hat to The Purple One during a tour stop at Minneapolis’s Target Center, treating fans to a live and direct salute to their hometown hero, performing the now haunting, ’84 smash “Let’s Go Crazy.”
And while Macca is far from his Fab Four form, he makes it clear that Prince’s presence was far from common as his band jam on the energetic hit against a Love Symbol backdrop. You can watch Paul McCartney perform “Let’s Go Crazy” in the clip below. Watch out for all of the tributes that are still to come.
