Perhaps you may recall the warm and soulful chop of one Ol' Burger Beats from his glistening, swinging, jazz-touched debut High Rhodes. The Oslo native may have had a quiet entry into the beat scene, but that certainly hasn't stopped him from catching the ears of the masses with a sampling style that manages to lend itself to donut & glitch lovers alike. Naturally, one Illa J took notice of the Norwegian beat maven's soupy, phased-for-days key treatments and added some of his own verbiage to the mix on a track named "20 Years," which we have the distinct pleasure of premiering in its visual form. With such an uncanny resemblance to the GOAT's early years of production, this collaboration is much too fitting, pairing two of Dilla's disciples (one in blood, the other in craft) on one choice cut. You can watch the video for Ol' Burger Beats & Illa J's silky collaboration below, just be sure to grab your copy of High Rhodes on some freshly pressed wax via Vinyl Digital to experience all of the sonic goodness from between the dust & grooves. You can also purchase the record on iTunes to take the funk on the road.
