How very Kanye! Not only does Kanye West, as previously reported, sidestep the submission process for the Cannes Film Festival, your favorite handbag’s favorite rapper will also make the whole thing a one-of-a-kind experience that is sure to have the world talking. In a press release, Cruel Summer is described as “a fusion of short film and art installation” and an “immersive seven-screen experience.” Ye’s mysterious art collective DONDA (remember those tweets?) will be behind the project, which will premiere out of competition on May 23 in Cannes and which lists Kid Cudi and Aziz Ansari among the cast. A G.O.O.D. Music compilation of the same name is also on the way.
