Watch Nipsey Hussle's Mother Share an Inspirational Message Following Son's Death

"Ermias will never die. You have him in your heart."

Nipsey Hussle's mother, Angelique Smith, has broken her silence in the wake of her son's death.

Smith opened up and shared a hopeful message on death and spirituality and purpose. In a video posted to Jai Yew's Facebook page on Tuesday (April 9), Smith speaking directly to fans about Hussle, who was born Ermias Joseph Asghedom to an African American mother and Eritrean father.

"I want you to know that I am so happy. And that Ermias is here with me right now," she says, adding, "Ermias will never die. You have him in your heart. Every time you speak of Ermias, he lives."

"Please do not stay down, do not stay stuck, do not mourn. Because Nipsey is great, and now he's even greater because he has no bounds and limits," she says. "His energy is everywhere. He's there with you now and he's here with me now. And please be encouraged."

"Death is just the beginning of a wonderful world," she added. "And I tell myself, Ermias liked thrilling things. And now my son knows the mystery—the secret, rather, to the mystery of life."

"Ermias was more beautiful in death than he was in life," she continues, noting that he "looked healthy, he looked clean, he had a glow, he was radiant. And he was so perfect that he had a sweet aroma. He even smelled good."

"When you walk this earth and you do good deeds for people, and you are loving and kind, those are the things that will show on your face. You will look more beautiful," Smith continued.

Since his death on March 31st, fans and friends have shared footage and stories of Hussle doing good deeds in and outside of his community.

Nipsey Hussle's memorial service is set to take place at the Staples Center on Thursday (April 11).
