Nicky Egan is a Brooklyn-by-the-way-of-Philadelphia-based soul singer whose powerful voice is helping her stick out. For her sophomore album release, she decided to simulate the old-school music industry and release a series of singles, with each A-Side getting it's own video. Speaking on the unique route towards releasing new music, Nicky said:

"I'm really excited to announce my sophomore release, The 45 Homestead Project . It's essentially an EP I'm releasing in three parts I've dubbed "digital 45's".  I thought it'd be cool to mimic the old school 7" A/B side model, but rather than pressing vinyl, I'm releasing each "digital 45" online, for free, with a video for each A side track. I'm an independent artist living in Brooklyn, so budget's tight.

We are lucky to have the premiere of her clip for "Made A Fool Of Me." The track is the A-Side to the first of these EP's and will be available as a free download on her website on Tuesday, July 30th. The song has a catchy and unforgettable retro feel . Nicky said of the music video:

"Everything was recorded and shot with the help of super gracious friends and artists within my community, just having fun and being creative, with the goal of getting the music out there. The blocks surrounding my apartment have some amazing street art. We created some characters and shot it here, which I think gives the video some authenticity and keeps the raw feel of the song."

Be on the lookout for parts two and three of her 45 Homestead Project coming out on August 27th and September 30th respectively. You can catch her performing live on July 27th at Rockwood Music Hall in NY. View the video below and be on the lookout for Nicky Egan.
