A new short film starring singer-songwriter Goapele will be arriving soon. The short film, which is titled #WhereIsBeauty, explores the pressures of our social media obsessed society. Goapele plays the character of Nina, a visual artist. The film is described as being about "An introspective visual artist dealing with the pressures of social media [who] embarks on a journey of self-discovery capturing everyday life through hashtags which unexpectedly transforms her perspective of beauty." #WhereIsBeauty will premiere at the 25th anniversary of the 2017 Pan African Film Festival at the RAVE Cinemark Theatre in the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. The film will show on Friday, February 10th at 3pm and again on Wednesday, February 15th at 1pm. You cop tickets to catch the film from the Pan African Film Festival's website. The film was directed by Angela McCrae and written by April Mabry. Cinematography was handled by Melody C. Miller while Matt Head acted as composer for the short film. #WhereIsBeauty was produced by Angela McCrae and Angela White and executively produced by Goapele and Allyson Scrutchens.
