maticulus & Your Old Droog Link In The New Video For "Stellar Intro"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

In his new video for "Stellar Intro," we meet Brooklyn-based producer and beatmaker maticulous and get a brief glimpse of his home digs and local streets. Filmed in grainy black and white, the clip features simple shots of meticulous looking us dead in the eye as the beat gently builds in the background.

That beat is a smooth piece made of flutes, strings and live drums, but it's the appearance of another Brooklynite that will really catch you ear. Maticulous has enlisted the talents of Coney Island MC Your Old Droog to drop a few bars over his sonic foundation, and it seems the Ukranian was all too happy to oblige. Simple and reverent to NYC landmarks including 125th Street, Droog's verse only adds to the welcoming feel of what's essentially an overachieving intro to maticulous's new record. The Maticulous LP serves as his debut release and along with Your Old Droog features a host of excellent East Coast talent. Having just dropped today, it should serve as an excellent addition to your week's listening rotation and is packed with vintage-tinged beats from front to back, we can attest. Purchase The Maticulous LP on iTunes today and watch the video for "Stellar Intro" below.
