American Express Is Reportedly Suing Lauryn Hill For Almost $400K
The singer owes an enormous debt
American Express is reportedly suing Lauryn Hill for $371,892. According to court papers that Bossip has obtained, American Express claims that the “Ex-Factor” singer has racked up a bill for various goods and services. It’s unclear what exactly she spent the amount on.
The papers, which were filed earlier this month in New Jersey Superior Court, name “MLH Touring” a co-defendant.
Last month, Lauryn responded to musician Robert Glasper’s claims that she stole music for her 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. In the essay she wrote for Medium, she denied any claims that music was stolen and defended her legacy.
As of September 28th, Hill has not responded to the suit.
