Unless youve been living under a rock since December, youre probably aware that Los Angeles Lakers great, Kobe Bryant will be retiring at the end of this season. And since the Lakers will be missing the playoffs by the narrowest of margins this year (couldnt be more sarcastic there), Kobes career will end when the Lakers regular season ends on Wednesday. As a diehard 76ers fan, its hard to embrace anything Kobe (well always have this moment), but you cant hate on greatness.
So as expected the Kobe tributes have reached all time highs as of late, with the most recent one coming by way of this ESPN short, Fade to Black. And of course, who better to narrate a Los Angeles legend than a current one in the making, Kendrick Lamar. The piece was written by famed journalist Scoop Jackson, while Kendricks untitled 07 serves as the soundtrack. Happy retirement Kobe, please never come back.
