OKP Premiere: JuJu Rogers Gets Vintage In The New Video For "Do It For"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

In the new video for "Do It For," Berlin-based MC JuJu Rogers takes us along on a very busy day. Shot on a vintage video camera (or perhaps edited to make it seem as such), the clip takes us through subway stations, sneaker shop back rooms and the inevitable restaurant run at the end of the night. It's a low-fi, humanizing portrait of Rogers, whose track is in and of itself is vintage gem. "Do It For" comes courtesy of the production work of knowsum, a German beatmaker who ought to be on the top of your Foreign Watch List.

JuJu was formerly an intern of the ever-excellent Jakarta Records, and has since blossomed into a full-fledged signee. Half-German, the young rapper is the son of a European mother and American GI father and was raised in the south German city of Schweinfurt. With his clear and slightly-barbed delivery, the young German is sure to fit perfectly in with the jazz-tinged set of Guru, Bishop Nehru and Doom and Okayplayer is very proud to premiere his latest work here. Watch "Do It For" below.
