Authorities do not believe foul play was a factor.

Around 9:30 P.M. on Tuesday night, local authorities found Josie Harris unresponsive in her car in Valencia, California. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene. According to TMZ, authorities don't believe foul play played a factor in Harris' death.

Harris is the ex-girlfriend of the world-famous boxer Floyd Mayweather. The two have three children together. Harris previously accused Mayweather of abusing her on six separate occasions. Mayweather spent two months in jail for a September 2010 incident where he allegedly barged into her Las Vegas home and attacked her in front of their children. He would later deny the allegations in an interview with Katie Couric, saying he restrained Harris because she was on drugs. Mayweather also blamed the charges on his fame and fortune.

"I'm Black, I'm rich. And I'm outspoken," Mayweather said about the charges in 2015. "Those are three strikes right there."

"Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did," he continued. "So if they say that's domestic violence, then you know what? I'm guilty. I'm guilty of restraining someone." After the interview, Harris filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against Mayweather. The case was still ongoing at the time of Harris' death. Back in September, a Los Angeles judge set a trial date for December 2019.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed an active investigation into Harris' death. Harris was reportedly in the process of writing a book to help survivors of domestic violence before her passing.
