Hiatus Kaiyote Deliver A Stunning Performance In Their Return To Boiler Room TV

Hiatus Kaiyote Dazzle In Their Boiler Room TV Debut

Hiatus Kaiyote made their sophomore appearance on Boiler Room TV earlier this month, running through a soulful set of tunes new and old in their hometown of Melbourne. Supported by three back-up singers, the Aussie four-piece brought their multidimensional polyrhythmic gangster shit live and direct, tight as ever, with that drunken swing on the drums. Most tracks bear the familiar warmth of their catalogue, laced with soulful improvisations, recalling Stevie Wonder's masterful and jazzy flips of his own songs. Standouts from the set include spacey r&b styles of "Mobius Streak" and the copious Dilla-fied jams that feel too-too good. The video may have just popped up in the internets today, but the performance itself took place just a day or two after the release of their stunning future soul EP By Fire, which is still getting plenty of burn around these parts. If you've yet to indulge, jump back and treat yourself. Watch Hiatus Kaiyote strut their musical muscles on Boiler Room TV below and grab a copy of the By Fire EP via iTunes today. Keep it locked to the Okay-realm, folks. These Kaiyotes have got a whole lot more on the way.
