Pass the Popcorn: 'Finding Fela' Official Trailer + Theatrical Dates Release

Pass the Popcorn: 'Finding Fela' trailer + Theatrical Dates Release Nearly twenty years after his passing in the summer of 1997, Fela Kuti's legacy continues with the creation of the documentary Finding Fela. This film commorating Fela's life and music, from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, will begin its North American theatrical run in August (and Okayafrica/Okayplayer are proud to have co-produced this project alongside Jigsaw Productions and Knitting Factory Entertainment). Word is that art house distributor Kino Lorber now owns the North American rights to the film, and with that announcement came the news that Finding Fela's first official trailer has been released along with a list of the North American theatrical dates. Scroll down to watch the official trailer and to find Fela at a theater near you.
