Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana Sued Over "All The Way Up" Writing Credits

A Miami rapper claims he wasn't compensated for helping write the hit.

Fat Joe, Remy Ma, and French Montana are facing new legal troubles over a three-year-old song.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Miami rapper Fly Havana, born Eric A. Elliott, says he's a struggling Miami-based hip-hop artist who co-wrote the song back in 2015 alongside rapper Infared and is suing to receive a co-writing credit, royalties, co-ownership of the song, and other damages.

Claims in the court document say that Elliot's original unfinished 2015 version of “All the Way Up” with Infrared is nearly “identical to the released version,”

Elliott alleges Fat Joe denied him credit and compensation. Elliott says he addressed Joe about the credit, they met up at an IHOP in March 2016 and Joe allegedly gave him a check for $5,000. The suit also states Joe promised the rapper he'd receive more money once the track generated more income but Elliott says that never happened. He also claims to have confronted French Montana outside of DJ Khaled's studio in 2017.

The track, produced by Cool & Dre, Domarj, and Edsclusive, appeared on Joe and Remy's joint album Plata O Plomo and was nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
