Lover's Holiday: Earth, Wind & Fire Announce Their First Christmas Album Will Drop This Year

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

While the announcement might have come about 9 days late ( do you remember, the 21st night of September?) the foundational soul and funk outfit Earth, Wind And Fire will be dropping their first soiree' into the seasonal sonics game, announcing that they'll be releasing a whole album's worth of reworked holiday classics. Just imagine Maurice White and Phillip Bailey's croons soaring over "Winter Wonderland" or bouncy bass man Verdine White laying the down the groove on their X-mas update of 1975's "Happy Feelings," appropriately renamed "Happy Seasons."  I was personally hoping for a new take on Nat King Cole's '46 icono-cut "The Christmas Song,"  something this writer would call "Earth, Wind & Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire." The album is slated to land October 21st on Legacy/Sony, so be sure to keep it locked for the latest drops from the legendary crew. Peep the track list below and brace yourself for a whole new kind of "Lover's Holiday."
