Up and coming rapper Dot Demo has released the music video for his new single after premiering it on Revolt TV, and it’s one of the more moving visuals – and songs – you’ll see this year.
After the Bronx lyricist born Derek Ward visited the Revolt offices for a premiere party in August, the station premiered the new music video for his song “Me Pt. 2” on their show “The Gate.”
The short, powerful music video of showcases Dot Demo and director Nick Von Gremp both flexing in their respective crafts. Over a somber production, Dot Demo drops vulnerable, hopeless rhymes about his life in the streets, escalating his intensity and emotion as the verse continues. Meanwhile, Von Gremp blesses the song with a gripping, short film-styled visual that conveys dueling street vignettes and concludes with a pair of tragic endings. Like much of the best street rap, the song and the music video take a straightforward, poignant approach that let the viewer sit with the piece and let it settle in.
“Me Pt. 2” is the first single from O.B.E. (Outer Body Experience), Dot Demo’s upcoming sophomore release – the follow-up to his 2014 effort Delta Theory. Watch the new music video below, and follow Dot Demo on Twitter and Instagram for further updates on future releases.
