DJ Skarface mashes classic Deltron 3030 verses with the music of Brainfeeder chief Flying Lotus on the brand new Deltron 1983 (Deltron 3030 vs. Flying Lotus) mixtape. The project follows Skarface's MadDILLAiny (Madlib x J Dilla) mix and Deltron's epic Event II LP, which arrived in the fall of 2013. The otherworldly sounds of FlyLo's catalog meld perfectly with lyrics from Deltron's self-titled 2000 LP, creating a booming, buzzing narrative that is nothing short of a certified future shock. Skarface serves up a little insight into the moving parts of this mixtape alongside the release:
I took Deltron 3030's classic 2000 concept album and blended it together with various album cuts, demos, remixes and other various productions by Flying Lotus.
