It’s been a helluva year for DJ Shadow. And by the end of it, he’ll have released two albums; his fifth studio outing The Mountain Will Fall and a 20th anniversary rerelease of his classic debut Endtroducing. The former’s seen a cerebral visual campaign play out over the last few months, breaching the outer limits with the new album’s title-track and inciting a full-on political showdown in the video for his Run The Jewels-assisted follow-up “Nobody Speak.”
Today he continues to make moves on your eyes, linking with the legend RUFFMERCY (whose animations have visualized cuts for Flying Lotus, Knxwledge, Madlib, J Dilla and the gamut of production powerhouses) for his latest single “Three Ralphs,” which basically looks like a set of Basquiat characters came to life with no good deeds in mind. You can watch it down below, but if you’re looking to get your hands on DJ Shadow’s 20th anniversary Endtroducing release, we implore you to cop the 6xLP box set, featuring alternate takes and remixes from Adrian Younge, Prince Paul, Salva, Hudson Mohawke and plenty more.
The Mountain Will Fall is out now via Mass Appeal Records. Grab your copy on iTunes today.
