This Is Not a Drill: The Diplomats Announce New Album, "Diplomatic Ties"
Update: Jim Jones shared a snippet of the Diplomats' new song, "Sauce Boyz," produced by Heatmakerz, and announced that the group is slated to perform at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem the night after the album releases.
After a 15-year hiatus, the world is getting a new Diplomats album.
Jim Jones revealed the title of their new project, Diplomatic Ties, and confirmed that it's slated for release next month. The rapper made the announcement during The Diplomats set at A3C Festival in Atlanta over the weekend.
"Before we go, we wanna say something,” Jones said. “On Thanksgiving, there will be a Diplomats album dropping. It’s called Diplomatic Ties.”
A Dipset documentary is also slated for release the following week.
Last month, Jim Jones revealed what appeared to be a track list, teasing the album.
The group's last album Diplomatic Immunity 2 was released in 2004. In 2011, they signed to Interscope Records, but they never released a full-length project.
During the last several years, Cam'ron and Jim Jones were dealing with internal conflicts, while Juelz Santana was faced with a federal weapons charge.
