With the doors to Cuba beginning to open up, the rest of the world is now getting a real chance to experience the rich heritage of this proud culture. A great opportunity to truly delve deep would be with the upcoming MANANA Festival, Cuba’s first Afro-Cuban Folkloric & Electronic Festival. Bridging these two musical worlds from May 4-6th of 2016 in Santiago de Cuba, this event will be open to both Cuban residents and approximately 500 international travelers. Some of the confirmed artists include UK dubstep pioneer MALA and Puerto Rican electronic-rumba group, IFÉ. Along with performances, the festival will also include music workshops, seminars, etc. However, to round out the lineup and make sure this amazing event goes down the way it should, MANANA is going to need your kickstarter support. Watch the video below for a more thorough understanding of this non-profit festival and be sure to donate or buy tickets via the kickstarter at a reduced rate (some really dope content on the KS page, as well). A trip to Cuba is definitely on the bucket list for me, and I can’t think of a better reason to visit.
I like ink and alcohol.... and I listen to music every now and then.
