Columbia Nights - "All In" [Promo Single]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Columbia Nights makes a triumphant return with "All In" - an appetizer of epic proportion that arrives ahead of their forthcoming project Dawn | Dusk : The Remixes, dropping on June 17th via Recordbreakin. The impending release follows their critically acclaimed Dawn | Dusk LP. "All In" is an expertly executed mash of joints that combines Herbie Hancock's "Sly" and Flying Lotus' "All In" - an exercise in pairing complimentary sounds that stemmed from a collective interest in what it might be like to experience the musical titans together. Columbia Nights took it upon themselves to fuse strikingly similar aesthetics from opposite eras to build a bridge of electro-dope across two tracks that allows the sounds to amplify in unison. Curiosity usually kills the cat, but not in this case. "All In" bridges the evolutionary gap with a sonic foundation that honors jazz funk and makes no bones about its unabashed allegiance to afro-futurism. The byproduct of this grand experiment from Columbia Nights is an interstellar standard bearer that does well to whet the appetite for their forthcoming project, but might be better utilized as the start of an entirely separate release. This track is a shining example of flawlessness and unfettered musicianship. From the sound of things, their forthcoming project promises to be another case of the common cold. Listen to "All In" below and grab the free download. For those of you too impatient to wait until next week, feel free to stream Dawn | Dusk : The Remixes on Soundcloud.
