Chance The Rapper Flips Hiatus Kaiyote On A Cooled-Out New Loosie
Chance The Rapper may have yet to deliver on his promise of a new album, but that doesn't mean your boy doesn't have a few heaters stashed away in the vault. Today he let loose a short and sweet repurposing of Hiatus Kaiyote's "Fingerprints" on the masses, something he likes to call "Hiatus (Broadcast)." And while we were all well aware of the impact of the Aussie future soul quartet's sophomore LP Choose Your Weapon, Chano's trying hand with the album's delicate number proves that we weren't the only ones listening and praising. CTR delivers some tender bars over the track's first minute and some change, before abruptly cutting out, and leaving us anxious for more. There's virtually no way that we'll see this offering on Chance, Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment's forthcoming, highly anticipated Surf LP, but we can certainly hope, at the very least, that we'll get something in the form of an extended take. And if not, I suppose we'll always have this short little treat to hold us over until Surf finally makes its way to the masses. Hear Chance The Rapper's "Hiatus (Broadcast)" and hold tight for the next transmission. Grab a copy of Hiatus Kaiyote's exceptionally dope Choose Your Weapon LP on iTunes today.
