British Walkers will perhaps always be known as the heat for every sophisticated b-boys feet. Many of us may be too young to even have a point of reference in regards to their stature in early hip-hop fashion, but it’s hard to conjure up an image of those baby years without thinking of the bucket hats, dookie gold chains, worn-leather bombers and the Walkers. Its an aesthetic that defined a generation. Plain and simple. But if anyone of that generation knows what it means to blaze trails (and some of the most iconic cuts those years have to offer) it’s the legend Big Daddy Kane.
A proper pairing, BDK and B Walker have teamed up to bring the iconic shoe back in an ultra limited collection designed by the Juice Crew bomber. For his fly footwear debut, Kane’s sculpted himself a duet of designs. The first, a black-out leather concoction, with a polished accent running down the side. It’s brother (or sister) struts flamboyantly with bold pastel pink panels and a cold grey base. Each of the 500 pairs will come stamped, numbered and authenticated with certificates. Ain’t no half-steppin’ in these things, folks. See the designs for yourself and cop a pair when they drop December 14th, Watch Big Daddy Kane break down the collection and the shoe’s place in hip-hop’s history below. You can also join BDK for the shoe’s launch party at NYC’s Santos Party House next Friday December 12th. Hit the link below to grab your tickets.
